Privacy Policy

00 is a local-first macOS app. It runs on your machine, and by default your data never leaves it. We collect nothing about you unless you explicitly opt in.

What we collect

By default: nothing. 00 has no account system, no mandatory sign-in, and no built-in tracking. Your agents, conversations, files, and settings live in a folder on your Mac (~/Documents/00) and are never uploaded to us.

Your keys and secrets

API keys and channel tokens you add are stored in an encrypted vault (AES-256-GCM) on your device. They are write-only from the app's perspective — agents can see that a key exists, never its value — and they are never transmitted to us.

Third-party services

When you connect a model provider (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter) or a communication channel, 00 sends the requests you initiate directly from your Mac to that provider using the credentials you supplied. Those services process that data under their own privacy policies — we are not a party to it. Local models (Ollama, LM Studio, Jan) run entirely on your machine and make no external calls.

Optional analytics & updates

Crash reporting and product analytics are off by default and only run if you turn them on. The app checks a small public file on our website (updates.json) to tell you when a new version is available; that request contains no personal information.

This website

This marketing website (0-0.chat) is separate from the app. It uses web analytics — Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics) — to collect aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics such as which pages are viewed, approximate region, and device/browser type, so we can understand what's useful and improve the site. This relies on cookies and covers only your visits to the website; it does not touch the app, your agents, or any data on your Mac.

Downloads

The website and app installer are served as static files. Like any web server, our host may log standard technical request data (such as IP address and user-agent) transiently for security and operations. We do not use it to build profiles of you.

Children

00 is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
